2019 MINI Cooper JCW vs 2019 FIAT 500 Abarth

Seeking to recapture your youth but didn’t grow up in the muscle car group? Good news, there are 2 retro small coupes that borrow from their past and supply the motoring public something besides a hulking V8 engine. The ‘brand-new’ MINI has been around since 2001 and has been a rousing success. It’s been so effective that FIAT revived the 500 name in ’07 to fight MINI. Today we compare the 2019 MINI Cooper JCW and FIAT 400 Abarth, and we’ll figure out which one will rule as the tiny, nostalgia-inspired cruiser.

2019 mini cooper jcw vs fiat 400 abarth comparison

Although the FIAT is a fine car, this area is a little bit of a mismatch for the MINI. The FIAT 500 Abarth features a 1.4 L Turbo 4-cylinder producing 160hp, which isn’t terrible for a car its size. However, the 2019 MINI Cooper JCW absolutely squashes it with 228 horse power stemming from its 2.0 L Turbo 4-cylinder engine. Both automobiles come standard with a manual transmission (because they’re more enjoyable!), yet while the MINI has a 6-speed unit and the FIAT just has a five speed unit. Both cars feature six speed autos as available upgrades.

Style is subjective, one man’s garbage is another man’s prize. In this case, both automobiles are absolute prizes with their devoted reimagining of the timeless motorcars of the past. The brand-new 500 Abarth includes an aerodynamic body that slices the wind, red seats, red engine cover, red brake calipers, and available 17-inch wheels. The ’19 MINI Cooper JCW features an updated front fascia, LED headlamps, JCW Sports Seats, optional 18-inch wheels as well as Union Jack inspired LED taillamps. While both cars are attractive, the MINI is plainly the better-looking automobile.

These vehicles were constructed with performance driving in mind, therefore a lot of the brand-new security modern technology features are missing. The all-new FIAT 500 Abarth includes a 5-inch touchscreen audio system, Halogen Projector Headlights, and Rear Park-Assist. Heated Front Seating, Beats Audio, Navigation and a Sunroof are all optional at an additional price on the Abarth. The 2019 MINI Cooper JCW includes a 6.5-inch Media System, MINI Driving Modes, LED Headlights and taillights. A few of the options on the JCW include a Panorama Roof, Forward Accident Warning, Emergency Braking, and NAV.
